The Picanto is the car I hand to people who just want to get around without thinking about it. Tiny on the outside, roomier than you expect for five, and so easy to park that squeezing into a spot near Los Corales beach stops being a chore. Around Bavaro it sips fuel and shrugs off speed bumps, and the automatic box keeps city driving relaxed. It will happily do a run to the PUJ airport or a grocery trip to Jumbo, though for a full day on the Coral Highway you might want something with more muscle. It arrives at your hotel or the airport with insurance ready to go, from $18 a day. For a couple or a small family watching the budget, it is hard to beat.
